Naimal Khawar and Hamza Ali Abbasi, Pakistan’s new IT couple, got married over the weekend, just a few days after the news broke across social media. Naturally, the public had a lot to say about the two, specially after Hamza’s continued justifications about their relationship.

What followed was a flurry of judgement and interesting questions. Some were extremely happy with Hamza’a views and his take on how things should go, and some had grave reservations for his conservative remarks; some even termed it hypocritical of him.

Naimal had to naturally bear the brunt of all this, and a lot of people assumed that she left acting because of Hamza’s conservative views, rumours of which Naimal finally laid to rest in a tweet last night. “Now that the wedding is over, I would like to address a few things,” wrote the Anaa actress, in a tweet thanking her fans for all the well wishes.

She made it loud and clear that she’s an independent, grown up woman who can make her own decisions, and we love this side of Naimal who usually exudes a very restricted demeanor. We’re all for Naimal letting everyone know that she’s got a mind of her own and she isn’t afraid to use it, nor does she need anyone’s help to use it.

She then moved on to clear the facts that she had in fact made the decision to leave acting nine months ago, and it’s by no means a decision forced onto her by Hamza. Kudos to Naimal for standing up for herself and letting people know that she is happy and thriving in this place!

Sending over a trove of good wishes and prayers the couples way!
