While Sheheryar Munawar has been in the news for his upcoming movies, we’ll have to say that we miss seeing the actor on our television screens. Meray Dard Ko Jo Zuban Miley, Naye Silsilay, Kahi Un Kahi, Zindagi Gulzar Hai and Aasmanon Pay Likha are the dramas that put him on the map as an actor and we’d love to see more plays starring him.
“If someone offers me a good drama script, I’ll definitely do it,” said Shereyar assuring that he is still interested in television and is open to good offers.
“I’m not big on giving social messages, just for the heck of giving one. It’s like there’s a trend of giving social messages so everyone seems to have joined the bandwagon,” he added regarding the latest inclination in dramas these days. “Yes, as artists our job is to stand up for what is right because we are opinion leaders but I do not like sermonising.”
“I do not believe in giving sermons. I would rather lead and show by example than sermonise. However, if you are talking about dramas, honestly, if I get offered something interesting, I will. I haven’t been offered a good script,” he said adding that he thinks it’s one of the most popular medium.
That being cleared, he added that his films will be soulful, and he hopes they achieve to deliver what they aim for.
Parey Hat Luv is an outright social movie. In fact, all my movies or any movie in general that you watch should have that element that makes you take something when you go back home. You should take something positive from what you’ve seen. But, the idea is not to sermonise. There won’t be a lecture in my films, but they will make you think. Subconsciously you should go back with a message, however, one shouldn’t feel lectured. We want to make films that are soulful. Films that stay with you for a while.”
We hope Sheheryar gets some amazing drams scripts offered soon. A for his movies, while 7 Din Mohabbat In is all set to release this Eid ul Fitr, Parey Hat Luv is being scheduled for Eid-ul-Azha 2019.
