From theatre to dramas, and dramas to films, Hareem Farooq seems to have come a long way, making a solid contribution to the entertainment industry. After the success of her film, Parchi, the actor-producer is all set to return to television with her upcoming drama Main Khayal Hoon Kisi Aur Ka.

“To be honest I was never away from TV – my show Miss Veet Pakistan, where I was the judge, just ended in January, and before the shoot of Parchi had started my serial Sanam was on air,” she said in an exclusive chat with Something Haute, stressing that this isn’t a comeback.

However, she did add that this drama serial marks her debut in the television industry as a producer. Main Khayal Hoon Kisi Aur Ka is a drama for Hum TV which will be aired after Eid. It is an IRK films production who have previously given hits like Janaan, Siyaah and Parchi.”

Speaking of the story, she revealed that it’s not like the roles she has previously played.

“It’s a complicated love story with lots of twists and turns to keep the viewers hooked to the TV screens,” she said. “My character is that of a simple girl who is forced into marriage. This character is not like one of the roles I have previously played.”

When asked about her equation with Ali, who is also part of this project, she said, “Ali and I are great friends off screen and I guess that translates into a great on-screen chemistry and it makes our shoots just another hangout for friends.”

Sharing her experience working as an actor and a producer, Hareem confessed it’s not as easy as it looks. “To be honest it’s just a roller-coaster. I am juggling the actor and producer hat every day.” When asked to compare television and films, she replied, “Medium doesn’t matter as long as you are working with good people and creating content that the audience likes.”

Hareem also disclosed that Parchi’s box office success has given them more confidence, “We’re simultaneously working on our next film that should insha Allah be going to floors later this year… just need everyone’s love and prayers with us.”
