Even since India imposed a ban on Pakistani artists from working in Bollywood two years ago, there’s been a constant discourse to let the stars of the two nations to work with peace. The latest to have that belief areParineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor, who defended working with artists from across the border.

Talking about working with singers from Pakistan such as Rahat Fateh Ali Khan or Atif Aslam — who in the last decade have been a powerhouse for playback in Bollywood — the Namaste England duo praised their talent.

“They are good at what they do. We are not bringing them here to get anyone else thrown out of the profession. We are going with the most correct people in that moment for that song.” Arjun said. “I don’t think the audience is ever going to judge a song based on the nationality of the singer.”

Parineeti who has previously worked with Ali Zafar in Kill Dil also does not approve of the ban and shared that it, in fact, makes her sad. She shared that she enjoyed working with Ali Zafar. “I wish I could work with Ali again.”

The actress finds it unfortunate that only Pakistani artists have been banned. She also shared her desire to work with everyone’s favourite, the Khoobsurat star, Fawad Khan.

“I wish I could work with Fawad. He would be such a great hero in our industry. He is so loved here.”
