For his ICW collection, Tarun took inspiration from the constellations and starry skies to bring about a collection that would make brides more comfortable on their big day.

“When I was working on the new collection, I wanted to start a new trend. I wanted pieces which were light and sparky. I have seen too many brides wear clothes that they can’t move in,” Tarun said.

Teaming up with Swarovski, the ramp saw a brigade of lehngas, saris, and anarkalis. While the silhouettes were classic, and played with layering, it was the lightweight feel of the outfits that was the focus. The designer made use of Chantilly lace, rose-gold embroideries and the signature crystals from Swarovski, to achieve the feel of a starry night. Keeping the colour scheme focused on pinks and peaches while using blacks and traditional reds to break the monotony made sure the colour palette was not limited.

“I always liked monochrome, especially on brides. I feel it makes them look taller. I think multi-coloured with embroidery, jewellery and makeup, it’s just too much. You (the wearer) are not a village bell…” the designer said in an exclusive interview with News18.

The collection also featured a range of menswear with embroidered kurtas, dhotis and sherwanis. While most of the pieces were conventional with a high likeliness of being a commercial hit, there were a few misses amongst the hits. Though keeping the ensembles relatively light and more towards a practical side worked well, even if it didn’t make for an extremely memorable collection as the brand previously has with their last Fall/Winter collection.
