It’s impossible to be an 80s or 90s kid and not know the biggest pop sensations of their time, the dynamic duo of Nazia and Zoheb Hassan, who not only ruled over the local music industry but also won hearts across the border. Though Nazia Hassan passed away in 2000, her songs are timeless classics. From millennials to Bollywood music directors, everyone seems to be impressed by her compositions even in the year 2019.

April 3rd marks the birthday of Pakistan’s most-celebrated female pop icon and so we thought of remembering Nazia Hassan by some of her chartbusters!

 

1. Ankhein Milanay Wale

 

Who could forget the beautiful composition and lyrics of the romantic ballad Ankhein Milanay Wale?

 

 

2. Disco Deewane 

 

Well, even Karan Johar can’t resist a Nazia Hassan song. A fresh rendition of Disco Deewane featured in the film Student of The Year.

This is undoubtedly Pakistan’s anthem of friendship.

 

 

4. Boom Boom

 

The upbeat track also featured in 1982 Bollywood film Star and earned her a nomination for ‘Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer’.

 

 

5. Aap Jaisa Koi

 

Nazia Hassan lent her voice to Aap Jaisa Koi in Indian film Qurbani, for which she won the Filmfare award for ‘Best Female Playback’ in 1981.

 

 

6. Pyar Diyan Gallan

 

When it comes to Punjabi songs, Nazia wasn’t behind at all.
