Pakistan’s Independence Day fell on the the third day of Eidul Azha this year and hence the celebrations were fused with traditional enthusiasm. While the national flag, buntings and banners are an absolute must, this year everyone celebrated the day in solidarity with Kashmir.

Many celebrities took to social media to express their love and wished fellow Pakistanis a happy Independence Day in their own style. Take a look…

Today, Pakistan is 72 years old. Our nation has endured endless pain over the past years but I am proud to say that I belong to this land because we are strong, determined and resilient. We are free and safe today because this nation has provided us with freedom; it has taught us the true meaning of Azaadi. I stand here proud today to call myself a Pakistani and my love for my nation will always remain unmatched. ?? On this day, I also stand in solidarity with the people of Kashmir who are not able to celebrate their freedom truly. My thoughts reach out to those people who are constantly suffering at the hands of the Indian government. May we all taste harmony and prosperity and live in a better future together.
Happy Independence Day, Pakistan! #PakistanZindabad ??? #DildilPakistan #DilSayMeinNaydekhaPakistan #HamainpyarhaiPakistanSayDilJaanSay #PakistanStandsWithKashmir

All ready to paint the town green! HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! ??Lets not forget that this free country we live in today is a result if massive sacrifices by our ancestors! We must not forget our Quaid’s golden words: ‘With faith, discipline and selfless devotion to duty, there is nothing worthwhile that you cannot achieve.’ We must always aim and fight to make our nation the greatest nation of all times! We shall not let all these sacrifices go to waste! We must not forget our resilience and stand united in times like these! This independence is not just a huge blessing of Allah (SWT) but also a responsibility, we must ensure that our future generations be also as proud of Pakistan as we are! #pakistanzindabad?? And while we celebrate our independence we must not forget our Kashmiri brothers and sisters, they need us more than anything right now! Lets unite and do everything in our own capacity to help kashmir! We bleed with you #kashmir ! We stand with you #kashmir! #kashmirbleeds

Happy Independence Day! Lets all be grateful for this wonderful gift of independence bestowed onto us by Allah and Our leader Quaid-e-Azam. Let’s not forget the sacrifice that went into birthing this magnificent country. We are a great people, destined for great things. Let’s keep that fire alive to take this country to the heights it deserves. To achieve the unachievable. Let’s think ahead to our future and to the future of this country and it’s people. And in doing so make progress our collective attitude. Let’s be better human beings. I love this flag and what it represents. I’m proud to represent this country. I’m proud to be called a Pakistani. And nothing will change that. #PakistanZindabad #HappyBirthdayPakistan #happyindependenceday #14august . As a Pakistani, as a person and a citizen of this world, I stand against the injustice towards the Kashmiri people. Let’s not forget to stand in solidarity with our Kashmiri brothers and sisters! This is their time of need, and they need us now the most. #IStandWithKashmir #Kashmir
