The Avengers put up a strong fight for three weeks, but seem to have finally lost out to John Wick.

The third installment of the Keanu Reeves starrer action franchise, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, managed to rake in $57 million at the North American box office, eliminating Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame, which collected $29.4 million during its fourth weekend of release, from the top spot.

Standing out from its predecessors, John Wick and John Wick: Chapter 2, which debuted with $14.4 million and $30.4 million respectively, Parabellum has emerged as the first installment in the franchise to debut at No. 1.

Parabellum has also set a franchise record overseas, bringing in $35 million from 66 international markets, making its total global earnings a staggering $92 million.

With a star cast that includes Halle Berry, Laurence Fisburn and Ian McShane, the movie is written by Derek Kolstad and directed by Chad Stahelski.
