Jawani Phir Nahi Aani 2 is all set to release on Eid ul Azha and while the cast is busy promoting the film, the film makers have just released the third song ‘Aya Lariye’ featuring the smashing pair Fahad Mustafa and Mawra Hocane shaking a leg or two.

Fahad and Mawra share good chemistry and depending on how much room romance is given in the film, they could be the next hot pair.  ‘Aya Lariye‘ meanwhile is a peppy and fun take on wedding songs, which we’ve witnessed quite a few of late, in Pakistani movies. It reminds us (visually at least) of ‘Fair & Lovely ka jalwa‘ from JPNA, with a few modifications.

The optics: Mawra looks extremely pretty and all dolled up in pink while Fahad pulls off a plum sherwani and has his swag on as he confidently dances to the number. Fahad sure can dance and he’s a definite improvement on all four gentlemen attempting dance in the original. Mawra, on the other hand, may not be as smooth on the dance floor as Sohai was, but she looks lovely and serves the purpose more than fine.

The sound: This version of the classic Punjabi folk song is  too similar to the Coke Studio version performed by Meesha Shafi and Naeem Abbas Rufi in Coke Studio Season 9. While Rufi and Shuja Haider have been roped in for the male vocals in this version, we are not too sure if the background vocals suit Fahad Mustafa. They sound out of place. Also, one desperately misses Meesha Shafi’s powerful voice; Aima Baig just doesn’t cut it.

Verdict: This song would have had recall value on the radio except we’ve already enjoyed it enough on Coke Studio; so we’ll enjoy watching it for Fahad’s leg work.
