Kareena Kapoor will not be the face of Faraz Manan lawn in 2017

Kareena Kapoor, a close friend of Faraz Manan and the face of his brand, will not be part of his lawn campaign in 2017, he confirmed in a conversation with Something Haute.

As quiet and unassuming as he is, Faraz Manan has managed to make a lot of noise throughout 2016, picking up Lux Style Awards for Achievement in Fashion Design – Bridal and Lawn – for his work in 2015. He also won big at the Hum Style Awards and then finally, was honoured with Designer of the Year at the Masala Awards in Dubai. That is quite a year!

Throughout the year we also kept a keen eye on his close friendship with the Kapoors in India, Kareena Kapoor being the face of his lawn campaign and Kairsma Kapoor supporting him whenever he showed in Dubai. His Dubai atelier also streamed its way to success and we saw Faraz first buy a Jaguar and then the gorgeous villa behind his Dubai boutique. We also know that he was the only Pakistani designer working on a royal wedding in Qatar; the only other designer onboard was Zuhair Murad.

So yes, as quiet and unassuming as he is, Faraz Manan had quite a year. We were curious, however, whether Kareena Kapoor would be the face of his brand this year, given the sensitivity of current cross border relations. We called Faraz and while the Pakistan-India relation may have been a concern, he made it clear why Kareena would not be the face of his brand this year.

“We decided jointly, when she was planning to start a family after our 2016 shoot, that we wouldn’t be doing lawn after this, having done 3 years already,” he said. “Bebo is a friend and most definitely my muse forever. You will see her doing something else for the Faraz Manan brand soon.”

We’re already excited! And meanwhile, we’re eager to know who’ll take her place as the face of Faraz Manan lawn in 2017.
