In a stream of nostalgic throwbacks, Sarmad Khoosat will be re-releasing Hernaam Kaur, his 2003 telefilm that pays homage to Manto’s piercing narrative on the pain of partition.

Khoosat Films announced that they will be airing the telefilm on their YouTube channel on August 26 at 8pm as a tribute to the legendary writer Manto. The film is based on his short story that explores the enigma of gender and identity, inquires into timeless themes of the human condition.

The filmmaker took to Instagram to share the promo for the telefilm and wrote:

“Full of 101 technical and aesthetic blunders, and glitches but 101% love and honesty. A lot of friends and fans have asked to make it available online. Am a tad bit nervous about it too, but whatever.”

Written and directed by Sarmad Khoosat, the telefilm has been produced by Irfan Khoosat. The cast includes Sohail Ahmed, Sarmad Khoosat, Saba Hameed, Irfan Khoosat, Fareeha Jabeen, Aasiya, Ahtsham ul Haq, Neha Malik, and
Sameera.
