Pakistani-American actor/comic Kumail Nanjiani made it big in Hollywood after his film The Big Sick and it seems there’s no stopping him now. After signing up for a film with famous WWE wrestler John Cena, he is now all set to work on TV!

According to Variety, Kumail has signed on to co-write and act in an upcoming TV adaptation of My Beautiful Laundrette, a screenplay written by Pakistani-British writer, Hanif Kureishi.

Although the screenplay was previously adapted into an Oscar-nominated film starring Daniel Day-Lewis in 1985, the television adaptation will work on a larger theme of LGBTQ+ characters and immigration issues.

At the moment, Kumail’s role in the show is not known, however, the TV adaptation will have 10 episodes and will be executively produced by Academy Award-winning writer-director Stephen Gaghan along with Hanif Kureishi.
