One of the greatest artists of this generation, Jamil Naqsh has passed away at the age of eighty. He was known for his figurative paintings and calligraphy.
Jamil was admitted to a hospital in London after he was diagnosed with pneumonia. His family confirmed his death saying, “He passed away this morning [Thusday] at 5:30am at St Marys Hospital where was admitted four days ago.”

The prolific painter was born in Kairana, India in 1939 and moved to Pakistan after partition. He won several awards for his work including the Pride of Performance in 1989 and Sitara-i-Imtiaz in 2009.
