The biggest and brightest award shows are around the corner and we, at Something Haute, are all set to ask the most important question: Who’ll wear what this year?

The red carpet looks for the much celebrated Lux Style Awards can swing both ways: it can either have a swoop-back pleated twill and glamorized shirtwaist (as sported by Mahira Khan last year) make headlines for best dressed or have any sorbet-shaded cocktail dress dismissed as frou-frou by style critics.

Will this year’s LSAs showcase striking fashion statements that’ll woo the crowd? Or would it be boo’ed by the crowd?

Perhaps only time will tell, but till then our style-radar has caught up with the frenzied wardrobe preparations for who we feel are the most promising stars of the evening!

Last year’s heartthrob hosts, and this year’s hearthrob LUX-on-screen-couple – Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan are ready to bring their ace game forward for this year’s award show. Mum’s the word for what bespoke gown Mahira opts to wear for the evening but we do know there’s an Indian stylist behind the scene working out the look for her! Whatever it is, here’s to hoping that she sticks to any designer who flatters her look rather than falters it! (flash back: the Manish Malhotra-Mess)

Fawad Khan has his loyalties straightened out, and opts to wear Republic (yet again) to the showcase. There is nothing better (and safer) than a suited-booted look, and we’re interested to find out what sleek-look does Omar Farooq have up his sleeve for his bestie, Fawad!

It’s exciting to have this year’s host in multiple avatars for the award show. Ali Zafar seems to be putting his trust in a classic, all black Giorgio Armani tuxedo for his red carpet appearance, followed by an outfit from Boggi Menswear (Milan) and then adding a bit of traditional yet trendy touch for one of his tribute-performance with Amir Adnan’s embroidered sherwani.

While tasteful tailoring seems to be the trending word for the celebrities this year, the models aren’t shying away from making striking fashion statements this time! Hasnain Lehri will be spotted wearing a custom-made Muse-Man suit and Amna Baber is ready to steal the limelight in a flowing goddess gown by Sana Safinaz.

Sadaf Kanwal looked haute in Nomi Ansari last year.

The LSA red carpet is all about being bold and Nomi Ansari, known to create curvaceous gowns with dramatic silhouettes, remains to be the predicted hit for the evening. Bombshell model and predicted winner of LSA trophy for Best Model this year, Sadaf Kanwal will be seen wearing Nomi Ansari for the second time in row. Mann Mayal sensation, Maya Ali will also be seen in Nomi Ansari.

Yummy mummies, Meesha Shafi and Aamina Shaikh also have their looks sorted for the big night. While, Meesha chooses to remain tight lipped about who she will be wearing to the LSAs, she has dished out the details on how she’ll be pairing the look up with Zohra Rahman and Kiran Fine jewelry! However, all eyes will be on Aamina Sheikh as she hosts two main segments for the night, for which she will be adorned in customized Zara Shahjahan and Mahgul outfits. It’ll be a hard call to make on which one suits her the best!

Sohai Ali Abro and Urwa Hocane have decided to win hearts not just with their style but more by their dance moves. Sohai will be seen in a signature Sonya Battla ensemble whereas Urwa has opted for a glamorous gown by HSY. And even though there is no word for who will be styling Mawra Hocane, we know she’s one starlight to look forward to due to her quirky and edgy-evening wear! Let’s just hope she gets it right.
