Maya Ali lands lead role in Asim Raza’s ‘Paray Hut Love’

Maya Ali may not be doing ‘item numbers’, but she sure is dancing her way to silver screen success. Maya’s debut film, Teefa in Trouble opposite Ali Zafar, is yet to be released but her dance track from the film has gone viral and Maya has already landed her second big banner film.

In an exclusive news update, we have learnt that Maya Ali has been signed on for Asim Raza’s Paray Hut Love in a role that originally cast Mahira Khan.

“Yes, the latest on Paray Hut Love is that Maya is playing the lead against Sheheryar,” director Asim Raza shared with us from London. “Mahira is playing a very special part in the film,” he also confirmed.

Mahira Khan will have a special role in PHL, which Asim didn’t want to disclose just yet and wanted to keep it a big secret.

“Mahira was facing serious date issues,” Asim quoted as the reason for her being unable to do the film.

“How can anyone say no to Asim Raza?” says Maya Ali.

We always knew Maya could act but she’s shed her demure TV image for that of a silver screen siren, which is working in her favour. Maya is being signed up for some major ad campaigns, including Lux and Coke (both Asim Raza’s projects) and she seems to be a hot new favourite with the ace director. It also works in her favour that Ahsan Rahim, director Teefa in Trouble, has praised her work ethic and professionalism in a recent interview with Instep.

“How can anyone say no to Asim Raza, one of the best directors we have,” Maya said when we reached out to her. “It was like a dream come true when he offered me this film. I am glad to get this opportunity to work with Asim and I will try my best to deliver as per the director’s expectations. I’m looking forward to working with Sheheryar too.”

We’ll be talking to Maya for an in-depth interview soon. Watch this space for more…
