From the man who woke Pakistani cinema from its long comatose state with films like Bol and Khuda Kay Liye, our eyes are fixated on the release of Shoaib Mansoor’s next, Verna.  While it’s old news that the filmmaker has a knack for traversing the untouched taboos, our intrigue doubled when we learnt that a relatively fresh Islamabad-based musician Xpolymer Dar will be featuring a rap track titled ‘Power Di Game‘ for the film.

Although one doesn’t expect a rap to be something we could see in the director’s film, the always experimentative Shoaib has once again tried bringing something unique for the audience.  According to the musician, he was contacted by Shoaib Mansoor himself for the song, and both Dar and Mansoor have put their heads together to pen down the powerful lyrics.

While talking about the song, the rapper said, “Shoaib Mansoor’s approval and praise for my work is something that I will forever cherish”.

Although the musician doesn’t really have the kind of fame that a lot of people in the masses recognize, rap still remains a relatively unexplored music genre than the rest and we’re sure it’s going to bring its own distinct taste to Verna. Time shall tell!
