The UK Asian Film Festival, known to have denoted films that have been cinematically classified as representing women behind/on camera or that are female-centric in subject matter, is scheduled to take place from 14th – 25th March at venues across Edinburgh, Manchester, Leicester and London. Amongst others, our very own superstar Mahira Khan is invited onboard as chief guest.

The Opening Gala Dinner for the festival will feature a special segment called ‘In Conversation with actress Mahira Khan.’ The Humsafar star will be conducting a Q&A with audiences at Phoenix Cinema, Leicester on 15th March and at Regent Street Cinema, London on 16th March, following a screening of her most recent Pakistani film, Verna.

Amongst others, the chief guests also include India’s Simi Garewal. The actress will be receiving a special award honouring female heroes, as well as leading a tribute to veteran actor Shashi Kapoor, with whom she starred in the controversial English film, Siddhartha.
