David Letterman is returning to the small screen with a new talk show for Netflix, and his second guest in the six-episode series is none other than Pakistani Nobel Peace Prize winner, Malala Yousafzai.

Malala said that the shoot went “great” after she was spotted leaving a recording of David’s Netflix show in New York City. Malala will be the second out of six guests on the series as former US President Barack Obama is reported to have been first guest on the show, a month ago.

Actors including John Krasinki and Emily Hunt were also seen leaving the studio, and are rumoured to be part of the series.

David is returning to a regular TV gig two years after signing off CBS’ Late Show. The host has set a deal with Netflix for a show that will combine long-form interviews with reports from the field.

The show will feature “in-depth conversations with extraordinary people, and in-the-field segments expressing his curiosity and humor,” stated a Netflix announcement.

“I feel excited and lucky to be working on this project for Netflix,” commented David. “Here’s what I have learned, if you retire to spend more time with your family, check with your family first.”

The untitled series will premiere in 2018.
