Ever since the British Royal Family has announced Prince Harry’s engagement to American actress Meghan Markle, the response in the UK has been a mixed bag of emotions. While most have accepted the union, some seem to have a downright racist opinion on it. The latest to do the latter is the leader of UKIP – Henry Bolton’s girlfriend, Jo Marney.

In a series of private posts sent to a friend,  Jo Marney worried that Prince Harry’s ‘black American’ fiancée will ‘taint’ the Royal Family with ‘her seed’ and make way for a ‘black king.’

The 54-year-old UKIP MP is now struggling to hold onto his post after a British tabloid published the string of racist text messages.

Marney also called Meghan a ‘dumb little commoner’ with a ‘tiny brain’ who is ‘obsessed with race.’

Her friend posted in reply, “racist.”

“LOL, so what? Not wanting other races and cultures to invade your own culture doesn’t mean I hate their race. Just means I don’t want their cultures invading mine,” she answered.

British media reported that senior UKIP members had given Bolton an ultimatum: Resign immediately or split with his girlfriend. He then chose to do the latter.

In a painfully awkward interview Monday morning on BBC Radio 4’s Today program, Henry Bolton announced the couple was no longer an item.

“The romantic element of the relationship is over, I’m afraid, as of last night,” he said.
