Mehwish Hayat has been appointed Goodwill Ambassador for ‘the rights of the girl child’ by Pakistan’s Ministry of Human Rights. She made the announcement on Twitter yesterday (Thursday), a day before the International Day of the Girl Child.

“I am delighted to announce that I have been appointed the Goodwill Ambassador for the rights of girls by the Ministry of Human Rights Pakistan. It is an honor for me to play an important role in getting girls their rights,” Mehwish tweeted. “I want to see a Pakistan where girls are given opportunities to receive education,” she added. Mehwish also appealed to the nation to help her in her mission to give girls the future they deserve.
