With the #MeToo campaign turning into an international initiative against sexual abuse, women from the across the globe have raised their voice against harassment. In the same manner, Pakistani celebs too, have made their concerns clear of the growing abuse in the industry. The latest to do so is Mehwish Hayat.

Taking to Twitter, the actress posted a photo wearing all black, in light of the #TimesUp campaign due to which all of Hollywood’s leading ladies wore black to the Golden Globes.

Mehwish

“Today, I wear black in solidarity with my industry colleagues in the US and push this message to the women of my own homeland, Pakistan. We are no less than men by virtue of our gender. Harassment of any form is totally unacceptable and we will not tolerate it  Mehwish wrote.

While she might be the first Pakistani actress to post a message in solidarity to the campaign, a plethora of actors in the industry have also spoken about the dark underbelly of Pakistani media.
