HSY takes his characters very seriously. Recently, he took to Instagram to share what method acting means to him.  “Method acting for me requires body transformation,” he posted sharing details about his characters.

“Body transformation I have done for my last 2 projects was tough and intense work that required massive dedication but I think they helped me get into my roles as an actor,” he wrote.

The actor will be seen in Mohib Mirza’s directorial debut Ishrat Made in China in an entirely different character than his debut role. He seems to be playing the main villain in the action comedy that’s said to be a spin-off of Mirza’s satirical show Ishrat Baji (2006).

Speaking of it, HSY revealed that the role required him to transform physically. “For Ishrat, I transformed my entire body look for my role and worked on it for months.”

To play Akram, in his debut drama he had to gain weight and also work on his Urdu.

In an interview with Something Haute, the designer revealed that he didn’t shy away from his shortcomings and hence he decided to learn the language for his debut.

“I knew that people will criticize my Urdu. So, I took Urdu classes for three months; four hours every night including Sundays. And I have to give credit to Abdullah Seja and Anjum Shahzad as they had someone to guide me on the set as well. Faiza Iftikhar has written a beautiful script but I didn’t know what half of those lines and words mean. But I worked on every single aspect of it — from the language and accent to his built and persona. I knew that Akram has to look a certain way and I did my best to make it real,” HSY had shared.

For his next TV project, he’s working on yet another transformation.

Taking to social media, he shared that he has signed his next TV project for ARY Digital being directed by Ahmed Bhatti and written by Faiza Iftikhar.
