Last year after Sridevi’s death, her husband and producer Boney Kapoor had cancelled his plan to produce a sequel of hit Bollywood film Mr India. However, it seems that Boney has had a change of heart as he’s confirmed that a Mr India reboot is in the works.

“The idea is to create a reboot first, and then, make a franchise of it. It needs to be made more contemporary. We have a basic structure in mind. We haven’t decided on a timeline yet but intend to make it soon,” Boney told Indian publication Mid-Day.

“After Sri, I have even more reason to make the film now… If Shekhar (director of Mr India) is free, he can direct it. The cast and crew of the film made it what it was and if anyone from the original line-up wants to be part of it, they can join us again,” Boney added.

The news of the sequel was confirmed by Boney Kapoor, shortly after director Shekhar Kapur and actor Anil Kapoor shared oracular messages regarding the film, hinting at its collaboration.
