After garnering positive feedback from the audience in Pakistan, Load Wedding – a directorial venture of Nabeel Qureshi — is all set to be screened in India at Jaipur International Film Festival (JiFF) taking place from 19th to 22nd January 2019. The movie has also bagged a nomination in the Best Feature Film category.

Earlier this month, director Nabeel Qureshi spoke to Something Haute and shared details about the screening of his films Na Maloom Afraad, Actor in Law and NMA2 in India.  The South Asia Forum for Art & Creative Heritage (SAFACH) will showcase the films in January. When we inquired why Load Wedding was not on the list he revealed that the film will certainly be screened but at a different film festival.

Now, in another exclusive conversation with us, Nabeel has revealed that Load Wedding is being screened at JiFF (Jaipur International Film Festival) in January as well. We asked how the film got selected for the screening and who will represent it at JiFF? “I had sent the films for the festival and the jury selected it. Fizza Ali Meerza (producer of the film), me and Fahad Mustafa will be going to India to attend the festival.”

When asked why he chose Load Wedding for JiFF he said, “I decided to submit this film for the festival as it is my latest release and it is also socially relevant for the people of India as well. It feels great that Pakistani films are being showcased at film festivals across the border.”
