It’s a treat to see fashion designers who put thought and effort behind their fashion week collections to make it an experience, rather than a simple walk on the runway. We’re not just referring to Ali Xeeshan and Fahad Hussayn’s grand theatrics; this also applies to Nomi Ansari’s simple concept of a beautifully executed fashion film that set the mood before his rainbow of reds brightened up the runway.

Going the extra mile is what can make or break a collection, however there needs to be some sort of cohesiveness to the whole display. Sometimes designers go all artsy and put out videos that are completely unrelated to their collection and that makes no sense.

Nomi’s festive film on the other hand showed everyone how it’s done. Featuring some great cinematography, the short film for his collection called Qabool Hai, features Ali Rehman Khan and Sana Javed as the adorable couple amidst their wedding festivities. From the dholki, to the nikkah and rukhsati, it shows the couple enjoying the celebrations in perfect outfits for each occasion, in the best possible colour combinations. Despite the good looking star couple, the use of Hamna Amir’s gorgeous traditional jewellery and the best of Coke Studio’s recent hits, the focus still remains on the ensembles and Nomi’s brilliant mix of colours. Might we also add, we’ve never seen Ali and Sana look better, someone should definitely cast the two together!
