The trailer for upcoming film Padman has just released and it has left us feeling hopeful! The story is based on a series of real events, where a school drop-out, Arunachalam Muruganantham, set out on a mission to provide sanitary napkins at minimal cost to poor women across the country, especially in rural areas.

Starring Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor, and Radhika Apte, the trailer shows the film to be entertaining and comic while bringing to light the top of menstrual hygiene. We see Akshay Kumar ace the leading role of Muruganantham, as he struggles to bring about a sustainable and affordable alternative to sanitary napkins to the women in his village.

Naturally, he is looked down upon and eventually shunned from his community too, in steps Sonam Kapoor to lend him a helping hand with his dream. We know the story will have a happy ending, but its the topic that has our attention!
