The turbulent release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s mega starrer Padmavati is still under scrutiny. The Censor Board has now decided to have two veteran historians on-board from Jaipur to view the film and share their two cents.

These historians include Professor BL Gupta and Professor RS Khangarot. Both the names are academically sound, with Gupta having written numerous books on India during the medieval period and Khangarot being the principal at Agarwal College. The two are of the opinion that the entire tussle related to the movie is not between the Karni Sena and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, but rather between the director and his understanding of history.

Both were of the opinion to watch the movie first before they could comment on it being altered to a level that will likely offend the audience. Gupta believes in artistic freedom but not at the cost of history, so the historical facts will be kept in check while viewing the movie and they will refrain from backing any political party on this regard.

According to sources, a four-member panel has been formed to review the film next month.
