Pakistani actress Sara Loren is all set to make a comeback in Bollywood films alongside Arshad Warsi in a comedy film titled Fraud Saiyaan. The film is scheduled to release on January 18 and the actress was hoping to be a part of its promotions in India. However, the Indian government has denied her visa multiple times.

According to a report in Indian publication Mid-Day, Sara found herself in the midst of the furore that followed the Uri attacks in 2016. “Loren was among the Pakistani artists who were given a 48-hour ultimatum to leave the country. Now the actress continues to struggle to get a visa for Mumbai in order to fulfill her professional commitments in relation to her forthcoming film,” the report stated.

“I wish I could join my team members in India at this moment,” Sara told Mid-Day, adding, “Sitting on a sofa, having coffee and watching my [film’s] song on repeat is wonderful. I will hopefully join my team before the film releases.”

Shooting for Fraud Saiyaan finished in August 2016, much before the  unofficial ban was put into effect. Producer of the movie, Prakash Jha has said that Sara’s absence could affect the film since she is Arshad’s leading lady in the movie.

“It is sad to see such a talented actor being denied the right to promote her film. She has been in and out of the visa office for days,” he was quoted as saying.
