After starting her music career with background singing in Coke Studio season 7, Sara Haider soon rose to fame for her distinct vocals and later in season 8 she performed a duet as a featured artist. The artist who has polished her singing abilities mostly on her own has now been honoured with the Charles Jehlinger Award by the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

Sara’s sister, Erum Haider, made an announcement on Twitter and wrote that Sara has graduated from the AADA and will be receiving the reputable award as the first Pakistani student at the institute.

“Congratulations to the immensely talented Sara Haider who graduated from The Academy Now today delivered the commencement speech got the prestigious Charles Jehlinger Award and will be the first Pakistani at Juilliard School’s MFA in fall (with scholarship). So proud,” she wrote.

The award is given to students who exhibit excellence as a person and an artist and who display professionalism towards their craft. Previously, the school has produced renowned Hollywood actors including Anne Hathaway, Paul Rudd, Robert Redford and the likes.

In a short span of time, Sara has paved the way to success and performed in theatricals like Grease The Musical and Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival. She was last featured in Coke Studio season 9 for song Meri Meri.
