After much speculation on why its release date was changed, the much-awaited airforce based film, Parwaaz Hai Junoon (PHJ) has now been confirmed for Eidul-Azha.
“There are 6 Pakistani films coming on Eidul-Fitr and it’s a reason of concern and worry for all producers as it will be difficult for 6 films to even reach breakeven if released together,” Momina Duraid had earlier shared her concerns with Something Haute.
According to her, pulling out PHJ from the Eid race would be best for everyone, as the industry is not strong enough to support the release of so many films together. That made sense until the new date was announced, because now the film will be released alongside Jawani Phir Nahin Ani 2, Load Wedding and Zarrar, all scheduled for release on Eid ul Azha. PHJ actually may have fared better alongside 7 Din Mohabbat In, Wajood and Azaadi.
Parwaaz Hai Junoon features Hamza Ali Abbasi, Hania Aamir, Kubra Khan and Ahad Raza Mir, an all-star cast but has an equally strong challenge going up against the other big banner productions.
