While Parwaaz Hai Junoon was all set to take its maiden flight today, it seems the Central Board of Film Censors has other plans for the film, which has been marred by controversies for a while now.

According to Rafay Rashdi, the film premiere in Karachi has been canceled after the film was hit with fresh censor board issues. However, the film’s release has not been affected.

“Due to unavoidable circumstances, we are canceling today’s premiere event. All other events and release date of the film remains unchanged. We will be releasing a statement shortly,” Rafay Rashdi was reported to have said.

Reportedly, the film has faced this issue due to certain scenes within the film that allegedly vilify Pakhtoons. However, according to sources within HUM Films, PHJ has already cleared Punjab and Sindh Censor Boards.

This is a developing story and will be updated accordingly.
