With spring/summer months heading our way, fashion week season will soon kick off in full spirit. The Pakistan Fashion Design Council (PFDC) is gearing up for the first of the two prestigious fashion weeks they showcase each year. Keeping in mind the upcoming prêt season, PFDC is set to host an extravagant four-day PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week (PSFW19) scheduled to take place from 11th to 14th April in Lahore.

What’s in store?

Celebrating the Council’s 20th consecutive fashion week, the event has the usual schedule showcasing three distinct categories including Luxury Prêt, High-Street prêt-a-porter shows and Lawn. We are eagerly waiting for the lineup to be revealed soon and expect to see some new designers or brand names popping up which have lately won hearts with their work.

Keeping up with its tradition of scouting and nurturing young designers, this year the ‘Rising Talent’ platform will yet again open doors to promising talent.

What’s new?

This time around, the PFDC is also partnering with the Trade Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) for another new concept, TEXPO 2019. The exhibit will be happening simultaneously alongside the fashion week at the Expo Centre, Lahore. The aim of the expo is to attract approximately 400 professional – local and international – buyers this season.

With TEXPO, PFDC is now aiming to draw more buyers for the local fashion industry along with fostering creation and style. It is one step ahead to reposition Pakistan’s fashion culture in the global fashion economy.

Looking forward to a bigger, better and more exciting fashion week which will be full of surprises.

Stay tuned for more updates about the fashion week!
