Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been surrounded by controversy and criticism ever since it was announced that he’s playing Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray in a biopic. However, claiming not to be bogged down by criticism, the actor said he would play the role with as much intensity as he did while acting as Saadat Hasan Manto in his upcoming film.

“My job is to act. So whatever character I get, I will play that with all my acuity,” Nawazuddin said. “I will play the role of Balasaheb Thackeray with the same intensity that I had while playing Manto.”
