PLBW’17 Preview: Shamsha Hashwani to pay ode to Bengal

One of the relatively new names in the industry, Shamsha Hashwani has righteously risen to fame with her fuss free aesthetic since the launch of her label in 2015. Known for her sleek pret wear, the brand made its bridal runway debut at PFDC L’Oreal Fashion Week last year.

This season, Shamsha Hashwani is set to bring her bridal collection titled Kolpana: A gateway to Nostalgia to PLBW’17. Inspired by the rich culture, art and history of Bengal, Kolpana brings in colours inspired by precious stones with raw silks and jamavar fabrics. One can expect to see a lot of rich ruby tones as well as violets and plums, which are going to be perfect for winter brides.

A sneak peek of the upcoming collection

We’re told to expect a mix of classic and modern silhouettes, including farshi ghararas, and an edgy jumpsuit for those who like to experiment. The outfits are to be embellished with handcrafted organza flowers as well as 3D embroideries and tassels, all of which are top of the trends this season.

The designer will be showing on Day One this weekend, and we know we can expect some wearable and modern pieces!
