Prince William is ready to spice things up — literally! The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton, are all set to visit Pakistan in less than two weeks. Prior to the royal visit, the couple expressed their excitement to explore new sights and tastes in South Asia.

The royals recently attended an event at the Aga Khan Center in London, where Prince William was overheard telling several people that he’s excited for his upcoming royal visit to Pakistan with his wife, Duchess Kate. The two met with prominent British-Pakistani figures, including 2017 Master Chef winner, Dr. Saliha Mahmood Ahmed.

According to E! News, the international trip is apparently on the royal’s radar because he’s excited about the flavorful food. “(He) loves spice, but not heat. Me and heat, not so good,” he said.

He reportedly mused that he is “looking forward” to the trip in spite of his restrictions and declared: “I’m going to need a bigger suit.”

On the other hand, Kate Middleton doesn’t seem to have a problem with spicy food. She admitted that catering to her husband’s taste buds can be tricky. “It’s so hard cooking curry in the family,” she said to William. “The children have a portion with no spice, yours is medium and I quite like it hot.”

Though her palate is still developing, 4-year-old Princess Charlotte, apparently takes after her chili-loving mom, as Kate noted she is “pretty good” when it comes to hot foods.

Journalist Sarfraz Manzoor, who attended the event, poked fun at the culinary options for the prince in his native country. “They were saying he likes medium spice,” Manzoor told reporters. “I don’t think it exists in Pakistan.”

The official visit is expected to take place between 14th-18th October, and will mark 13 years since the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, Charles and Camilla visited Pakistan in 2006.
