Definitely the most anticipated day of the PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week, day three comprised of many fashion powerhouses and hence the venue was packed with excitement and new energy. Of course, no day can be a perfectly smooth run, but it is easier to remember the hits from last night rather than the misses.

Sunsilk Hair Trends by Nabila

The night was off to a good start with maestro Nabila showing us some bold and edgy dos. These included hair colouring techniques, from dramatic ombres to subtle hair contouring, as well as eye-catching hairdos for the experimental. There was attention to detail that only Nabila can envision and execute and this show was undoubtedly one of the strongest of the 3 day event.

So Kamal – Mughal Sway

With flowing silhouettes and classic floral plus geometrical prints, this collection was an interesting twist of contemporary and ethnic wear. The use of everyday fabrics like chiffon and lawn is what made the collection practical and relatable to everyday wear. The more formal pieces featured some traditional tilla work, along with flairs and the same breezy silhouettes.

Sana Safinaz – Chateau Marmont

The structured silhouettes here are what stole the show as they instantly caught the eye. With a colour palette that included jewel tones as well as monochromes, each piece was something that could be recognized as a classic piece by the brand from afar. The use of luxurious fabrics gave the dramatic silhouettes and structured pieces an immaculate look, and while there were a couple of misses, overall it was an easy to love collection!

Khaadi Khaas – The Nomad

Khaadi Khaas played with shapes in a new found finesse and the collection, Nomad, has us wandering after each piece! The contemporary use of traditional crafts and embroideries was done superbly well, and the tribal colour palette was perfectly apt. All in all: this was purely Khaadi, ethnic yet trendy to the core. Additionally, we loved the accessories which will also be available at Khaadi stores.

Republic by Omar Farooq- Paradox

One of the sleekest menswear label in Pakistan, Republic’s Paradox was a slightly experimental collection with a majorly monochrome palette, which is after all a classic. With printed t-shirts, denims, and structured jackets, the collection practically had almost everything a male wardrobe would need. The black and white jacket worn by Hasnain Lehri was a particularly funky piece which reminded us of the ‘Yin and Yang’ philosophy, perfectly in sync with the Paradox theme.

Ali Xeeshan – Victory

Having Ali Xeeshan as the finale obviously meant that he would be putting the ‘show’ in the night’s fashion show! The drop waist style used on the outfits looked super trendy, while the 3D embellishments stood out spectacularly. And while the embellished skirts were similar to his previous works, the more minimal cotton tops were what we loved more than the dramatic pieces. Ali can definitely count this collection as another one of his victories!
