The lineup of Day Two at the PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2017, as compared to the other two days, was not particularly exciting and as expected, most collections of the day fell below the line of high fashion. The overall impact of the day could not be salvaged despite the frequent appearance of celebrity ‘showstoppers.’ The shows also started pretty late and the untimely commencing did not help the situation. However, our delight at a fashion show actually ending at a decent time was an immeasurable saving grace!

Tena Durrani- The Debut – Alchemy

Tena’s cruise collection consisted of an array of flowing gowns, cocktail dresses, as well as draped skirts and tops. The collection played with solid colours and embellishments to create a vast variety of evening wear.

Shiza Hassan – Lolita

Bringing out the very good looking cast of Chalay Thay Saath, the collection had an ‘East meets West’ theme with a mix of traditional Japanese elements plus Shiza Hassan’s signature digital prints. With rich embroideries and varied embellishments, most pieces from this collection would be a good pick for trendy yet understated wedding wear during the summer, as well as look good on the red carpet.

Saira Rizwan – Summer of Love

Summer of Love played with a 60s theme and hence featured playful trends such as frills and fringes along with loose and flowing silhouettes. Incorporating lawn as the primary fabric on a predominantly white palette was what made the collection relatable and a good pick for everyday wear.

Amir Adnan – Revisiting Heritage

Amir Adnan’s collection was precise, with practical menswear, which consisted of kurtas, waistcoats, as well as his signature sherwanis. The colour palette was classic and just right for traditional summer wedding wear. As the name suggests, this collection was all about revisiting our heritage.

Sapphire – Totem

As expected, Sapphire knocked it out of the park by bringing wearable yet trendy pret wear with their debut on the PSFW runway. The use of prints was just right; Khadijah Shah played with the top trending silhouettes to create a solid combination of outfits that are easy to wear while looking fabulous. We are definitely eager for this collection to hit the racks, at affordable prices, which Sapphire is popular for!
