The dance number ’24/7’, from Punjab Nahi Jaungi may have received mixed reviews but there’s no doubt that the film has its endearing qualities and one of them is the new romantic ballad, ‘Ae Dil.’ Starring Humayun Saeed and Mehwish Hayat, the song has soothing tunes and equally calm vocals, which are set against a montage of a rather lovelorn looking Saeed and Hayat.

Sung by Indo-Canadian singer Junita Gandhi – who has previously sung for Mom and Jab Harry Met Sejal – and our very own Shiraz Uppal, ‘Ae Dil‘ definitely does give out poignant vibes and may be seen at an emotional part of the film, or at least looks like it will. Our guess is as good as yours.

Although ‘Ae Dil’ redeems PNJ for us after the previous song’s release, it still doesn’t match ‘Tere Naal’ in its brilliance and composition. However, if you feel like a romantic, love struck tune is what you need at any moment, this song won’t disappoint. Moreover, we feel the two protagonists have excellent chemistry, which always helps.

If you haven’t checked out the song yet, you can see it here:
