Great news! Pakistani film Punjab Nahi Jaungi (PNJ)has won a special jury award for Best Film at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Film Festival which took place in Qingdao, China.

And that’s not it. Another blockbuster Pakistani film Jawani Phir Nahi Ani (JPNA) has been officially selected by the country’s state-run China Movie Channel. Producer of both the films and also lead actor, Humayun Saeed took to Instagram and shared pictures from the closing ceremony.

The five-day long festival was organised by State Film Administration and China’s Shandong provincial government to promote cooperation and exchange between SCO member states. Fifty-five movies from SCO countries including five Pakistani films — JPNA, Bin Roye, Parchi, Chalay Thay Saath and PNJ were screened at the festival.

This is indeed a proud moment for Humayun as he has acted in three movies (JPNA, PNJ and Bin Roye) that were screened at the SCO Film Festival while two of his productions – JPNA and PNJ — have managed to make a strong mark.

The SCO includes China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India and Pakistan as full members while legendary actor Jackie Chan is the festival’s promotional ambassador.
