While 2017 may not have been the biggest year for Pakistani films, it surely was a massive success for director Nadeem Baig and Punjab Nahi Jaungi. After becoming the biggest hit of last year, the film has even bigger news in the offing for its fans.

According to reports, Punjab Nahi Jaungi has now broken all previous records of Pakistani cinema and has become the first Pakistani film to cross the PKR 50 Crore mark worldwide.

Ahmed Ali Butt – who starred alongside Humayun Saeed, Urwa Hocane, and Mehwish Hayat in the film, took to Instagram to post about the achievement.

“Punjab Nahi Jaungi creates history & breaks all previous records at the box office to become the first Pakistani film to cross Rs 50 crores at the box office worldwide!! And still running Mashallah!” Ahmed wrote.

Previously, films like Jawani Phir Nahi Aani and Waar held the record for highest grossing films, however, none were able to break the record of PNJ or cross the PKR 50 crore mark.

Now, this is surely something everyone – including Durdana can celebrate!
