After failing to pay his income tax worth PKR 3.2 million, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has allegedly seized maestro Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s account for non-payment.

According to Geo News, the FBR took action on Wednesday and froze the account of the renowned singer after recovering PKR 2 million from it. Previously, the accounts of the singer were also seized in 2017 by FBR over non-payment of PKR 3.348 million in terms of tax.

The singer has also been in the news for speaking against Indian singer-turned-politician Babul Supriyo and his remarks against Pakistani artistes. Rahat – who has recently recorded and released ‘Nit Khair Manga’ for Bollywood film Raid –made it clear that ‘music has no boundaries’ and that’s what makes them messengers of peace.

“In midst of so much being said all I can say is music has no boundaries and thank everyone for showing so much love for the songs which I am a part of,” Rahat had posted on Twitter.

In regards to the seizure by FBR, Rahat is yet to respond to the action.
