All India Bakchod (AIB) podcasts are always refreshing to watch because they are so much more candid than other celebrity interviews. The latest AIB podcast featured Ranbir Kapoor, who ended up saying a lot of interesting things. For instance, the topic of Fawad Khan obviously came up, as the two stars shared screen space in Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil: The Haute Review

Kapoor spoke about how he felt less hot whenever Fawad was in the room. He also spoke about how insecure he felt around him because Karan Johar was “obsessed with him”. “Whenever Fawad was on set, Anushka and I were just pushed aside and Karan was suddenly giving him directions. With us, he would say ‘go act.’ But with Fawad he was giving him layers, his costume was being worked on and Johar was telling people to trim his beard. We were badly treated on the set,” he jokingly added.

He even commented on how he was mansplaining Katrina Kaif during the promotions of Jagga Jasoos. Apparently, Kapoor wasn’t even aware of what ‘mansplaining’ meant before the promotional tour. Basically, every time Katrina Kaif was asked a question regarding her character in the film, she would be interrupted by Ranbir who would start answering the question for her. Buzzfeed then did an article, requesting Ranbir to stop talking over Katrina. Thanks to the AIB podcast, we’re glad to know that Katrina actually got very happy when that article came out.

In the very few instances that it has happened, Ranbir Kapoor let his guard down and spoke candidly.

What’s even funnier is the fact that in trying to defend himself, he mansplained even more. “Can I defend myself?” he asked. “Actually, every time Katrina was asked about her character, I just felt that she would start drifting. I had seen the film, I’ve produced the film, I know the characters very well. So I would start answering the questions.” At this, the AIB gang cracked up. “But that is still mansplaining,” they pointed out.

However, what the Interweb has been buzzing about regarding this podcast are the comments Ranbir made about Karan Johar’s show Koffee with Karan. “The problem with that show is that you know him so well, he makes you feel so comfortable. So when you’re chatting with him, you don’t realize that there are a billion people who are taking every word so seriously.”

When asked whether Ranbir was tired of Koffee with Karan yet, he answered, “Of course. I was forced to come this year. Anushka and I were going to get the industry together to boycott this because it’s not fair. He’s making money off us.” However, Ranbir didn’t say this as solemnly as we all have been imagining, based on reading the headlines. He was saying it all rather jokingly.
