There were too many expectations and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was destined to disappoint many of the people who were holding their breathes in over-anticipation. Then there were so many people continuously whining about it. Like the MNS, who didn’t want it to release in India. Nationalists in Pakistan, who felt releasing it here would be equivalent to treason. Fawad Khan fans, who objected to his scenes being cut. Fawad Khan fans, who hated Karan Johar for his video ‘denouncing’ Khan. Mohammad Rafi fans objected to Alizeh’s reflection on the singer – “Woh gaatey kam aur rotay ziyada thay!” And finally, Farida Khanum fans objected to her classic ‘Aaj Jaaney Ki Zid Na Karo’ being played in a club in Vienna.

We thought we’d add to the list of ADHM offenses…

Warning: Spoilers ahead!

KISS HIM GOODBYE

We resent the fact that the entire film leaves no room for love for a bad kisser. ADHM would have taken a very different course had Alizeh thought that Ayan was a good kisser when they first meet.

THESE LIPS DON’T LIE

We object to Anoushka Sharma’s (artificially plumped up) lips that had a life of their own. They’ve become so unnatural that it appeared that someone else was delivering her dialogues for them.

NOT SUCH A SINGLE LADY

We do not approve of Saba, Aishwarya Rai’s character who makes an entry as an emancipated and fearlessly independent woman and yet typically falls for Ayan within a few scenes. Oh come on, guys!

HAIR TODAY, GONE TOMORROW

We also don’t like the fact that both Anushka Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor wear very artificial, plastic prosthetics for their bald heads. They appear very alienesque and while getting them to actually shave their heads may have been too much to ask for, their shaven heads could have been made to look more real.

PIRATE BAY

Finally, we resent the fact that we had to download a pirated version of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and watch it on our laptops instead of cinema screens.
