The federal government earlier imposed a limited restriction on the screening of Bollywood movies during Eid to safeguard the interest of the local film industry. Due to this decision, Salman Khan’s Race 3, releasing worldwide on June 15 was scheduled for screening in July. No dates were confirmed. Ranbir Kapoor’s Sanju, releasing worldwide on June 29, was also likely to have been delayed in Pakistan.
While the limitation still exists, according to a revised notification from the Government of Pakistan, the ministry has reduced the restriction period from 2 weeks to 1.
According to the update, Salman Khan fans will be able to watch Race 3 in Pakistan around June 21 and Sanju may release on its scheduled date. Looks like the distributors have pulled the right strings and/or have flexed muscle to have effectively managed the situation to their advantage.
