Saba Qamar, who has become a household name with her massive success on both television and big screen, needs no introduction given her popularity. From memorable performances in plays like Maat, and the most recent Baaghi based on the life of Qandeel Baloch who was killed in the name of honour, to her soaring success in Bollywood opposite acclaimed actor Irrfan Khan in Hindi Medium, Saba has emerged as an intelligent actor who selects strong roles.

In a recent interview with Instep, Saba spoke about her upcoming projects and revealed that she’s in talks for another TV play that is likely to start sometime in October. She also confirmed that she’s no longer a part of Badshah Begum.

“I didn’t find spark in the character I was offered,” Saba revealed. “I feel masses should be able to relate to the characters we play on screen. There should be substance and strong content. It’s better to do nothing than do something for the sake of it. Don’t be busy, be productive,” she continued.

That is evident from the roles she has portrayed so far, which are real and quite relatable to people. There were rumours of Saba signing a Hollywood film opposite Ben Affleck but the news soon died down. We wonder if it’s still in the works though!

For now, Saba is all geared up for an upcoming Eid-ul-Azha telefilm opposite the Suno Chanda famed actor Farhan Saeed. The telefilm is called Iss Dil Ki Aisi Ki Taisi and has been directed by Aehsun Talish, whose earlier works like Suno Chanda garnered rave reviews and was the most watched show during Ramazan.

Expounding more on the theme of her upcoming telefilm, Saba said, “It’s fun with a love story and some light hearted comedy. I wanted to work with new people and a team, including Farhan, whom I worked with for the first time and had a good experience.”
