Bringing a much-needed breath of fresh air to the PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week Day 2, Saira Shakira showcased an art-inspired collection titled Canvas, which took its ethos from the work of artist Ian Davenport.

Mixing a generous palette of hot pinks, electric yellows with ink blues and oranges, Canvas made for a fun watch on the PSFW ’18 runway. Apart from the colour, Saira Shakira’s bold aesthetic juxtaposed perfectly with their experimental yet wearable silhouettes, which centered around the uniformity of chic black belts.

Diffusing an aura of youthfulness with its preppy vibe – which had been missing the whole day, Canvas managed to make its mark on the audience with its uniqueness. Whether it was the dramatic shoulders and sleeves, nipped waists or contemporary prints, Saira Shakira’s experimentation with pops of colour and intricate silhouettes called for major appreciation.

Although the brand is not new to bringing something new to the table each time they show, Saira Shakira managed to do this time what other names couldn’t on Day 2 – it brought liveliness. Amidst otherwise mellow collections, the brand stood by its signature and proved their aesthetic is all about the vibrancies of life.

The brand also revealed some major style statements for the year within their collection with their structured draped tops and loose pants, which we’re sure will become a major trend in 2018.
