Amidst the recent cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan which have resulted in an indefinite halt over the exchange of entertainment content, here’s a message of peace: Sajal Aly’s Bollywood film Mom, which also featured Adnan Siddiqui, is all set to release in China on March 22.

Mom was released in India almost two years ago and stars actors like Sridevi, Akshaye Khanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The story revolves around the struggle of a mother (Sridevi) who takes the law in her hand to punish her stepdaughter’s rapists. Sajal Aly has received rave reviews by critics and public alike in both the countries for portraying the character of Sridevi’s estranged stepdaughter; now it’s time to see how the film performs in China.

The film was the last theatrical work of late actress Sridevi. Mom has already been released in several countries before such as like Poland, Czech Republic, Russia, UAE, UK, USA and Singapore. The announcement was confirmed by Indian film critic Taran Adarsh who took to Twitter to share the Chinese poster of the film.

In a press conference, late actor Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor said, “Mom is a film that has connected with both, mothers and audiences, from every region. This is Sri’s last film and our aim is to tell this beautiful story and showcase her most remembered last film to as many people as possible.”
