The court has granted bail to  Salman Khan, who is appealing his conviction on charges of poaching a rare deer in a wildlife preserve two decades ago.

Salman was sentenced on Thursday to five years in prison and was immediately sent to jail. The Judge ordered him to sign a surety bond of 50,000 rupees ($770) on Saturday before he could be set free in Jodhpur, India.

Khan’s overjoyed fans danced outside the courtroom while his sisters Alvira and Arpita, were present during the hearing.

Four other Bollywood stars also accused in the case — Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Tabu and Neelam — were acquitted on Thursday.

Salman is expected to be released from jail by 7pm today and his next hearing is scheduled for May 7.
