Bollywood actor Salman Khan has landed himself in another controversy after a Pakistani flag was hoisted on Indian land for a scene of his upcoming movie, Bharat. A complaint has been lodged against the actor for hurting the sentiments of Indians.

The team Bharat wanted to shoot a scene at the Wagah Border. However, due to security concerns, the team was denied permission. Therefore, director Ali Abbas Zafar recreated the border scene in a village of Punjab. For the scene, the team had to hoist the Pakistani flag on the land. All was well until localites saw the shooting of the scene which infuriated them.

The villagers reportedly lodged a complaint against the Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor, a source revealed to The Asian Age. “A lot of local bodies were upset about how someone could hoist Pakistan’s flag on Indian soil. We have had such issues earlier in Kashmir and in places like Mumbai as well when Pakistani flags have been put up during Indo-Pak cricket matches,” the source said.

While it was for a film sequence only, the locals have not only lodged a complaint against Salman but also surrounded the film’s set and the hotel where the actor was staying. In the wake of these events, the team quickly wrapped up and left for Mumbai, the source revealed.

Earlier, Salman’s production LoveYatri — which was initially named ‘Love Ratri’ — hurting the sentiments of a certain section of people who felt the title insulted the festival of Navratri. The title was then changed to LoveYatri.
