Producers Samina Humayun Saeed and Sana Shahnawaz have joined hands with Chariman IMGC Entertainment Amjad Rashid to establish a new production house named Epic Entertainment which will be producing TV serials, web series and movies.

IMGC is the leading importer and distributor of foreign movies in Pakistan while Samina and Sana have previously produced hit TV serials such as Mann Mayal, Sadqay Tumhare and Khuda Mera Bhi Hai. Their collaboration hints at a more progressive entertainment industry with IMGC – which has until now only been distributing movies — stepping into film and drama production while Samina and Sana taking their work forward by venturing into web series as well as movie production.

Speaking about this new venture, a visibly excited Sana Shanawaz said, “I am super thrilled about his partnership. We are hoping to create the biggest production house in Pakistan and plan to give the audience quality entertainment.”

She also revealed that her upcoming drama Alif, which features a star-studded cast comprising Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ahsan Khan, Sajal Aly, Kubra Khan, Sadaf Kanwal, Manzar Sehbai and Osman Khalid Butt, will be the first project to be produced under this new banner.

Samina, too, is looking forward to creating novel content. “Be it Sadqay Tumhare or Mann Mayal, our aim has always been to give to the audience fresh and engaging stories. With this new venture, we hope to maintain that same level of quality but hopefully at a much larger scale. I am particularly excited about creating content for web.”

Amjad Rasheed said that through this new venture they are planning to produce Pakistani movies in collaboration with international teams. “It is a great privilege to work with the most experienced and prestigious team of Samina and Sana. The joint venture will also produce Pakistani movies with international collaborations, locations and with the leading stars of Pakistan,” he said.
